The Sainsbury's store at the Cameron Toll shopping centre in Edinburgh won our award this time last year.

At the time store manager Jason Martin said his biggest challenge was driving growth, with the store already in its 21st year.

He had successfully overcome that challenge by improving availability and customer service at the store. When we caught up with Martin this week, he said the store had had a very successful year. Footfall is up 15% and turnover has also grown "by double digits".

The store's non food sections were refitted in March to support an expansion in that category. The store now has a much larger range of clothing, music and magazines, all tailored to local needs.
