In a bizarre twist of fate, Andrew Major and his 100,000 sq ft Asda Wal-Mart Supercentre claimed The Grocer 33's Top Store Award this time last year. He has now been in the role for two years and is still "loving every minute" of it. The store has not undergone any structural changes over the past 12 months although Major has boosted the number of staff on his team from 700 to 800. Major said his team were particularly excited about Christmas, and had invested a large amount of time decking the store out with festive decorations. "The festive time is a fantastic time for us, and we are having a ball this year, we have never had such a delicious range of foods, or such stunning homeware and clothing."
