The infectious camaraderie of staff at Tesco's Sheldon store, near Birmingham, helped it win our Top Store award this time last year.
And a bit of Dunkirk spirit was just what was required. The local council demanded that delivery lorries could only unload between 7am and 8am, which meant store manager Emma Grant (left) and her team had to get products on shelf before the store opened at 8am.
Since then, Grant has departed and new manager Richard Merryman has more on his mind than the early starts.
"A new Aldi store is opening 200 yards away and there are plans for a Tesco Extra nearby, but business is good here and we can handle the competition."
