Trials of SmartShopper Moneybox's online, touchscreen, instore shopping kiosk will kick off in 10 independents at the end of this month. Spar and Londis outlets will host the kiosks for three months.
Moneybox deputy md Vince Robson said the company had signed up eight online partners so far. "We are aiming to get around 20 different retailers on board, each covering a unique area," he said.
SmartShopper offers the option of paying in cash via the retailer, instead of inputting credit card details. "This makes it much more accessible," said Robson. The full roll out is due for early 2001.
