The slow rollout of Waitrose's store-based online shopping service Waitrose Deliver is not a reflection of technical problems, the company has insisted. The service is available from just 11 stores outside the M25, some way short of the 36-store target Waitrose had planned to reach by the end of June (The Grocer, February 23, p8). Waitrose marketing director Mark Price said everything was running smoothly, with the rollout programme "slipping slightly" as the team ensured staff were properly trained and took into account the impending summer holidays. He added: "The rollout will probably be complete by the end of September." {{NEWS }}
