Waitrose Deliver home shopping scheme should be up and running in around 20% of its stores by May 2001, according to selling and marketing director Mark Price. The scheme, which is being trialled in four stores, is currently available only to customers with John Lewis account cards. Around one third are regular users. Price said Waitrose planned to extend the scheme to all customers in the four trial stores by February 2001 and to roll it out to 25-30 stores by May. "We have to move quite slowly to ensure that all services get to all our customers," said Price. "The big issue is not doing it quickly but doing it well." {{NEWS }}
