Waitrose has launched a new training plan that will train suppliers to meet its needs. Developed for the retailer by Merston Peters, the Developing People in Partnership' initiative has been designed to create future leaders of the food and drink industry. Its principal aim is to encourage stronger partnerships between supply chain members. Speaking at a suppliers' meeting, Waitrose director of buying Steve Esom said: "We must work in partnership to address the training and development needs of our supply base." The training plan is aimed at graduates or graduate calibre managers across all business functions and comprises 15 days' training over 12 months. {{NEWS }}
