Robert Wiseman Dairies has reported an 11% increase in half-year sales volumes to 851.3 million litres following the demise of Dairy Farmers of Britain.

The dairy company said the collapse of DFB led to increased volume gains with The Co-operative Group and other customers.

Turnover for the six months to 3 October rose 7% to £423.9m, with pre-tax profits up 81.4% to £21m.

“We are pleased with the volume gains during the period and that we have delivered profits consistent with the second-half of the previous year,” said chief executive Robert Wiseman.
