Nestlé Rowntree is negotiating the sale of its Fox's Glacier Mints and Triple X brands to Northern Foods together with the Leicester- factory where they are made. The acquisition, subject to contract, is expected to be completed by early April. The sale will not mean any immediate changes to its trading arrangements, a Nestlé spokesman said. He added: "We intend to fully support the Fox's range and Triple X during the transition period." Confectionery lines under the Polo and Wonka brand names, also manufactured at the site, are not included in the proposal. The sale is part of Nestlé's strategy of focusing on fewer, bigger brands such as Kit Kat and Aero. If the acquisition proceeds, Northern Foods will transfer its Croydon-based Paynes confectionery to Leicester. {{NEWS }}
