The Christmas shrink ray has struck again, and this year it is Nestlé pulling the trigger.

It has cut the size of its Quality Street tins from 1kg to 820g - an 18% reduction. The tins are being sold by Tesco for £5, the same price as last year’s larger tins, though Nestlé claimed the rsp was lower.

Nestlé was the only confectioner to reduce its tin sizes this year. Last year, Kraft cut a tin of Cadbury’s Roses from 975g to 850g and Heroes from 950g to 800g.
