More Brits are eating cooked ingredients such as eggs, bacon and sausages at breakfast.

Eggs featured in 804.6 million breakfasts at home, up 13.7% year on year [Kantar Worldpanel 28 w/e 25 May]. Servings of sausages and bacon increased by 1.5% and 7.1% respectively.

Demand for natural sources of protein and the rise of paleo and 5:2 diets were partly fuelling growth, said the British Egg Industry Council.
