One Stop franchisees have reported like-for-like sales up almost 10% so far this year.
The Tesco-owned convenience chain currently has over 100 franchisees; at the 12 who have traded for over a year like-for-likes are up 9.4%.
Footfall and basket spend were up 4% and 7.4% respectively on a like-for-like basis.
The chain said stores had experienced an 18% uplift in turnover overall, excluding seasonality, in the eight weeks after refit.
One of the stores, in Alderman’s Green, Coventry, had seen turnover climb 70% to date since extending its sales area to 1,200 sq ft during the refit.
Partner Sarjit Dhillon said 15% of the sales growth had come during the transition period as a result of promotions and the gradual introduction of a new range. “However, things really took off once the store was refitted and we’ve never looked back. Our sales shot up a further 40% in the first week and are still growing.”
