Nisa is ploughing £10m into price cuts and promotions for the second year in a row.

The retail buying group said the £10m would fund initiatives to drive down long-term prices and improve member profitability.

It would focus heavily on branded goods such as Carling, Echo Falls and Red Bull, but there would also be offers on lines such as fresh milk, with 2-litre bottles at two-for-£2.20.

“Last year’s £10m investment proved a real footfall and sales driver for our members,” said John Sharpe, MD for central distribution trading and logistics. “We’re putting everything into an increased range of products, so there will be much more value to be had.”
