CoYo moves into ice cream with quartet of flavours

The ice cream carries an rsp of £6.99 for a 500ml tub

Dairy-free yoghurt brand CoYo is expanding its line-up with its first coconut-based ‘ice cream’.

Rolling out to retailers including Whole Foods Market this week, the range comes in Vanilla & Nutmeg, Raw Chocolate, Natural, and Sticky Date & Tamarind flavours (rsp: £6.99/500ml tub).

The CoYo brand was created in Australia in 2009 and introduced to the UK last year by West Sussex-based Planet Coconut, which makes the yoghurts and ice cream at its own facility.

The launch comes a week after Gü founder James Averdieck bought a controlling interest in coconut-based desserts brand Bessant & Drury. A 500ml tub of Bessant & Drury iced dessert is currently £4.69 in Tesco.
