An advertising drive featuring former cricketers Ian Botham and Allan Lamb has been credited with an increase in sales of beef and lamb. Eblex, which funded the TV and press campaign, said its figures showed that sales of beef and lamb in England have risen 4% and 5% respectively since the ads were first run in March.
Eblex said its research showed that the campaign was popular among consumers and some 55% of people surveyed said they were aware of the TV ads.
Of those, 86% agreed that the ads were clear and easy to understand, while 83% said they found them funny or amusing.
