Popcorn brand Butterkist has invested £1m in a campaign featuring TV and London bus advertising.
The push will include a 10-second commercial focusing on the brand’s sharing bags, Toffee and Sweet Cinema Style, and will air on multiple channels between 5 and 18 September, and again from 26 September to 9 October.
Ads will also run on 100 London buses from 12 September, focusing on the Sweet Cinema Style sharing bag with a ‘Try it! Love it! Share it!’ call to action. The buses will be branded on both sides and will be seen around the city for two weeks.
The investment comes as Butterkist rolls out a new 250g sharing pack of Sweet Cinema Style popcorn this month. The brand hopes its latest drive will highlight the family sharing occasion and drive sales in the category.
“Butterkist is synonymous with popcorn and the sharing moment,” said Anjna Mistry, senior brand manager. “This campaign is to help consumers recall how much they enjoy and love Butterkist, and that it is a great snack for bringing families and friends together, whatever the occasion.”
