British charcuterie brand Serious Pig is expanding its range after seeing sales grow nearly 250% in 12 months.

The two new products are a light pork crackling snack called Snackling (rsp: £1 for 25g) that will be available from the middle of this month, and a fennel-flavoured snacking salami (rsp: £1.70) that launches at the IFE show in London from 17 to 20 March.

After moving to a site in Bristol at Christmas, founder George Rice said the company intended to increase production to 45,000 salami a month by the end of 2013, although there was capacity to double this.

“We see the size of the market in the UK for our salami to be around £3m to £5m,” he said.
