The two bodies organised a food fair last month in Nicosia to showcase bacon, sausages, lamb, ham, beef and cheese. It included cookery and butchery demonstrations, as well as a dinner reception for Cypriot importers.
"Cyprus is a small but attractive market for English meat. It has a large expat community and a growing tourist trade," said Bpex and Eblex export manager Jean-Pierre Garnier. "It is also a wealthy market and comparatively less affected by the downturn."
