Robert Wiseman Dairies has accused rivals of a "breach of faith" in failing to pass retail milk price rises back to farmers.
Wiseman has written to direct milk suppliers warning it might have to rethink its recent 2p a litre increase because it put the company "significantly out of line with the prices paid by our competitors".

shaw's move to GNX
Sainsbury's US subsidiary Shaw's has started using the online auction platform from e-marketplace GlobalNetXchange as a procurement tool in the first of 10 trial negotiations.
Sainsbury first started using GNX to source products and services in May 2000.

2.9% pay rise tip
The retail sector can expect a pay increase of 2.9% in 2003, compared to the average 3.1% in 2002, according to a report from Mercer Human Resource Consulting.

pharmacy tie-up
West Midlands Co-op has opened a pharmacy in a second Morrisons store in Burton-on-Trent. The society's services controller Steve Ridler said the tie-up followed the success of a similar initiative with Morrison in Bilston, near Wolverhampton, last year.

MBO saves jobs
A management buy-out of a frozen bread bakery belonging to Elisabeth the Chef in Aberystwyth has saved 121 jobs.
The bakery's general manager Ian Williamson led the management buy-out team after staff and management were told in August the plant would be closed unless a buyer were found.
The new bakery, to be called the Aberystwyth Bakery, will continue production of confectionery, specialist bread and frozen products.
