Dairy Crest has reported 'strong' first-quarter trading, with a 'good performance' from its key brands Cathedral City, St Hubert Omega 3, Country Life Spreadable, Petits Filous and Utterly Butterly.

Sales of its Clover spread were returning towards normal levels following a product recall in May, the group said in a trading update ahead of its agm later today, and it had implemented a range of improvement plans at the factory.

It is also trialling a Milk & More home delivery service at its Surbiton depot providing customers with a wider range of goods, including locally grown and organic foods.
