First Milk has announced a one pence per litre price rise for farmers supplying milk for its liquid and manufacturing pools.

The move takes the dairy co-op’s standard liquid price to 31.85ppl and its manufacturing price to 32ppl.

Chairman Bill Mustoe said First Milk was working hard to boost returns for its members, as shown in its recent expansion of the Lake District Dairy Co brand into quark, territorial cheeses and milk drinks.
