Seriously Strong Cheddar has come joint first - with Cadbury’s Dairy Milk - in a consumer taste test.

The Lactalis-McLelland brand got a score of 8.51 out of 10 in a survey of Britain’s 100 favourite food products, conducted by research company Nunwood.

Fellow dairy brands Lurpak and Cathedral City also put in strong showings, ranking third and sixth respectively.

The Nunwood survey asked 2,400 consumers to pick and rate products they had purchased and consumed.
