The range, which rolls out from next month and will retail at £1.99, comprises Spinach & Feta Cheese Lattice, Roasted Vegetable Lattice (both 400g) and two-packs of Chargrilled Pepper & Tomato Tarts and Potato, Cheese & Onion Tarts (both 318g).
The products can be cooked from frozen in 20 to 35 minutes and follow the launch of
Dalepak’s meat-free ready meals earlier in the year (The Grocer, January 10, p60).
The manufacturer said it hoped the range of meat-free pastries would attract both vegetarians and non-vegetarians choosing to eat meat-free products to add some variety to their diet.
Marketing manager Charlotte Telford added: “Boundaries are becoming less defined and meat-free is much more accessible to all.
“With the pastry range, Dalepak hopes to reinvigorate the category and attract new customers.”
