Danish prices on backs went up this week in a bid to catch up with the runaway Dutch and one trader said prices for gammons, although remaining the same for now, were likely to go up at least once more before Christmas.

Dutch traders said there had been little change in the market and a lack of pigs coming through continues to add pressure. Retail trade was described as good, while the bulk side continued to tick over.
