A senior executive at Danone is leaving the French dairy giant to take over at luxury handbag maker Louis Vuitton.

Jordi Constans was previously executive vice president of fresh dairy products at Danone. He takes over from Yves Carcelle, who has held the top at Louis Vuitton since 1990.

Parent company LVMH in July announced a 13% rise in sales at its wine and spirits division. It has previously hired figures consumer goods groups including Procter & Gamble.
