Danone has finally taken over New Zealand energy drink and fruit juice maker Frucor after it gained the 90% approval from shareholders needed to secure the deal. Frucor's board dropped its opposition to the takeover last week, recommending that shareholders accept the $NZ2.35-a-share offer, valuing the company at NZ$294m (£88.6m). Danone will now look to take Frucor's flagship product, the V energy drink, into Asian markets such as China and Indonesia where it has developed a strong distribution network. {{NEWS }}
