Independent bag-in-box supplier Darlington Wines hopes to establish longer legs in the bottled wine market with the launch of two new ranges. It plans to uncork the South African Hippo Creek range and the Californian Cottonwood brand at the show. Hippo Creek is a partnership with Booland Wines of Paarl to produce a seven strong range (including three whites and four reds) blended at the Hazendal Winery in the Western Cape. They will retail for around £4.99. The Cottonwood range includes a Chenin-Chardonnary from Monterey Vineyards and a Cabernet-Grenache from the Central Valley. They will retail for around £4.49. A Darlington Wines spokesman said: "As an independent company we have no affiliations with wineries, giving us more freedom and choice when sourcing different types of wine which we tailor for the UK market. "These two launches have been developed with UK tastes in mind." {{DRINKS }}
