Napolina is stretching further into the Italian food market with new premium sauces and speciality egg pasta.
The company wants to replicate the success of its canned tomatoes, which grew 115% last year according to The Grocer Top Products Survey 2003. The aim is to build turnover to £50m by 2007. On shelf in Tesco, the six sauces have an rsp of £1.49 and include a Carbonara recipe, as well as five tomato-based variants featuring chilli and garlic, mixed peppers, olive, basil and green pesto or mascarpone.
The 375g pastas are priced at £1.49 for Campanelle, Torchietti and Garganelli varieties, with Lasagne at £1.29.
