Del Monte is out to prove that it is not only the likes of chilled brands such as Tropicana and Minute Maid that can push premium juices, with the launch of added-value variants for the ambient category.
Del Monte Special Variety Gold Pineapple juice and Healthy Plus orange juice with added vitamins, both out this month, would make consumers more aware of the high quality and health credentials of ambient juices, said Del Monte.
The pineapple drink uses the
company’s extra sweet pineapples sourced from Costa Rica for a more premium drink while Healthy Plus contains vitamins A, C and E as well as bioflavonoids - natural pigments in fruits and vegetables that are reported to aid blood flow in the body.
Both drinks are made from concentrate and carry a premium price of 99p for one litre.
“There is no question that healthy eating is on the rise and Del Monte is perfectly placed to capitalise on the ever growing consumer demand for fruit juice and functional beverages,” said the company’s product manager Sarah Swindell.
