Sainsbury and Oddbins have reached the end of the road with their joint venture Destination Wine Company. The industry has been expecting a parting of the ways since Castel bought Oddbins and Destination Wine Company's venture with Carlton TV ended late last year. The Taste for Wine brand will be retained by the multiple grocer and integrated into its stores from next week. Sainsbury's general manager for beers, wines and spirits, Allan Webb, said: "Castel was not anxious to pursue this as it has a business which deals with people other than Sainsbury. We parted company amicably." He said Destination Wine would be brought in-house and the buying brief would not change. "Consumers will not notice the difference," he said. {{NEWS }}
