Macphie of Glenbervie is hoping to inject upmarket appeal to the ambient desserts fixture with its first branded offering a range of "cheeky, posh puddings", sauces and coulis.

This summer, the bakery and foodservice company is launching DeviliShh, a seven-strong range targeting people who like dinner parties. The range was aimed at 30 to 49-year-old women looking for easy-to-prepare desserts, said group commercial director Ronnie Leggett, who hopes to double the company's size in the next 10 years. "Celebrity chefs and TV shows like Come Dine With Me have encouraged consumers to experiment," he said. "Our research showed ambient desserts needed a shake-up."

The crème brûlée, panna cotta and crème caramel have an rsp of £2.99 for 500ml, the raspberry and mango coulis are £2.99 for 300g and the chocolate and caramel sauces are £1.49 for 360g.
