UK drinks giant Diageo said that three wine brands from its Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines unit in the US can be labelled ‘low-carb’ as defined by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau.

DC&C said the wine brands Coastal Estates, Sterling Vintners Collection and a new brand called Century Cellars, all contain no more than 7g of carbohydrates per a typical serving, which the ATTTB determined to be 5fl oz.

DC&E will also included in POS information other nutritional information, such as fat, protein, calories and serving size.

Ray Chadwick, president of Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines, said: “We know from our research that our consumers want this information to make informed decisions, and we are proud to take a leadership position in this respect.”
