The first grocery product to support WeightWatchers’ No Count diet plan has been launched in the form of a range of less than 0.3% fat cottage cheese.
Produced by Dairy Farmers of Britain under licence from WeightWatchers, the cheese comes in three flavours - Sun Ripened Tomato, Olive & Basil; Celery & Red Onion with Mediterranean Herbs; and Natural. Other flavours are in development, said DFOB.
The products are available exclusively in Sainsbury from today (July 9) in 250g flavoured and 500g natural packs (rsp: £1.09.)
WeightWatchers launched No Count in January, a diet plan that allows people to eat foods from a list without having to count points or calories. The cottage cheese can also be eaten as part of WeightWatchers’ points diet, and has a value of one.
James Quick, cheese buyer at Sainsbury, said: “It is great to be able to offer our customers innovation in cottage cheese.”
