The deadline for entering The Grocer's new Branded Excellence Awards is creeping up.
With 19 categories, from Best Soup to Best Bagged Snacks, the awards recognise and reward NPD, innovation and taste created by big and small brands in the £123bn UK grocery sector.
The 'Brandies', sponsored by SHS Sales & Marketing, are a sister event to The Grocer's Own-Label Awards, and share the same two-step judging process.
First, all entries are subjected to consumer panel testing, conducted by Cambridge Research and, win or lose, every entrant receives a report on the performance of their product. Based on these scores, a shortlist is created, and finalists are judged by food experts. The winners will be announced at a hotel in London in February 2008. The deadline for entries is 22 June.
