Fruit Deli, a fruity dairy mousse with a layer of fruit compôte, has 25% fruit content. Its launch follows consumer research by Dr Oetker last year that indicated there were times when consumers fancied a sweet treat that was more than a yoghurt or piece of fruit but not as indulgent as a chocolate dessert.
The launch would help drive category growth by inviting more consumers to treat themselves more frequently, said Matthew Wilson, marketing director for Dr Oetker Chilled.
The launch will be backed by a £1.5m spend including TV and the range will be available in most major retailers from 3 May (rsp: 65p for a 115g pot).
Fruit Deli comes in strawberry & rhubarb, peach & passion fruit, and cherry & pomegranate flavours.
