The Advertising Standards Authority has pulled two television adverts for ready-to-drink brands Smirnoff Ice and WKD after they were found to breach rules designed to protect under-18s.

The ASA said that the Smirnoff Ice adverts, featuring characters called Uri and Gorb, could not be shown again because “the characters were likely to become cult figures with strong appeal to under-18s”.

The WKD ads, it said, breached the rules because they contained “juvenile humour” likely to appeal to under-18s.
