Aldi has topped a table of the UK’s leading drinks retailing websites.

In July, the discounter jumped five places up the table of the top 25 drinks retailing websites - produced monthly by website testing specialist Sitemorse, which rates sites on function, code quality, user experience, accessibility, performance and SEO.

Sitemorse said Aldi’s success showed how it was not only upmarket operators that were delivering strong online performances, with four value retailers - Aldi, Lidl, Bargain Booze, and Iceland - in the top 10.

Some big names slipped down the table in July, with Tesco dropping three places to 18, Asda down two to 19, and Waitrose down one to 20.
