East of England Co-operative Society has expanded its Sourced Locally range with the introduction of three ales.

The Golden Ale, Ruby Ale and Dark Ale are the first exclusively labelled Sourced Locally products in the range.

They have been brewed by Nethergate Brewery in Pentlow, Suffolk, and will be available in all of the society’s supermarkets and food stores across East Anglia from 8 August.

East of England launched Sourced Locally in April. It now works with more than a hundred local producers across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, selling over 2,000 products.

“This is an exciting new development in our local sourcing programme and I hope it signals the start of many more products under the Sourced Locally label,” said local sourcing manager Kevin Warden.
