Coffee brand Douwe Egberts is upping its marketing spend to £4m and is running a raft of trade and consumer offers to promote the "cafe experience" at home. The offers include an on- pack loyalty scheme where consumers can redeem barcodes for items such as espresso machines as well as Douwe Egberts branded crockery. In November consumers can get a Bodum 3-cup cafetière in exchange for two Real Coffee 250g barcodes. For the retailer, in cash and carries and wholesalers there is a nine for six cases offer on Real Coffee 250g filter fine and cafetières and individual packs will be price marked £1.99 (normal rsp: £2.29). And retailers can collect two Air Miles for every case of Real Coffee 250g filter fine or cafetière. A new ad campaign will break later in the autumn. {{P&P }}
