Sainsbury’s has switched “significantly” more poultry to the 2 Sisters Group after terminating its Vion contract in March (The Grocer, 10 March).
“We gained significant new business from Sainsbury’s with an innovative poultry solution,” 2 Sisters holding company Boparan Holdings said as it announced 8.2% like-for-sales growth in its poultry division in Q3 this week.
The 2 Sisters “solution”, commencing in Q2 next year, will enable Sainsbury’s to source different British-reared poultry, from the same factory, with less impact on the environment.
Sales volume increases helped 2 Sisters to “lap last year’s selling price increases,” it added.
