Swiss dairy processor Emmi is set to boost its position in the UK after acquiring Onken from fmcg giant Dr Oetker this week.
Dr Oetker will continue producing Onken yoghurts, but worldwide marketing and intellectual property rights will transfer to Emmi at the beginning of 2011. Financial details were not disclosed.
The move would bolster Emmi's profile in the UK and in Germany, where Onken was the number one and number three big pot brand respectively, said CEO Urs Riedener.
