A Lancashire haggis producer has reported a sales surge following the discovery that haggis originated in England, not Scotland.
Browns The Butchers sold 1,134kg of haggis in August, 10 times more than in the same month last year, according to co-partner Chris Brown.
An increase in marketing activity over the year and a £50k extension to the premises had also added to the company's growth, added Brown.
In August, historian Catherine Brown found a haggis recipe in an English cookery book dated 1615.
