The first seedless lemons were set to hit the shelves in Sainsbury this week.
The Outspan branded citrus is claimed to be the first genuinely natural seedless lemon, and will only be available in the UK.
The variety, Seedless Eureka, will be on sale for just six weeks in Sainsbury at £1.79 for four.
The lemon was discovered by chance after an Outspan farmer found a tree full of seedless lemons.
Sainsbury citrus buyer Marcus Hoggarth said: “It has taken seven years to produce the first seedless lemons and I’m delighted Sainsbury is the first supermarket to sell them.”
