Secrets of The Grocer 33 will be revealed in a presentation at next week’s Food & Drink Expo.
Adam Leyland, editor of The Grocer, will explain the history of the weekly price, service and availability survey, how it’s compiled, as well as detailing significant changes to be introduced this summer.
“We’ve always kept the methodology secret, but as part of our evolution of this highly coveted supermarket competition, we want to provide greater transparency, as well as reflecting some of the changes in grocery shopping, and this presentation will be the starting point,” Leyland explained.
The Grocer 33 presentation will feature alongside live panel debates, Q&As, masterclasses and a Dragons’ Pantry inside The Brainfood Factory. Other topics under discussion will include obesity, the war on waste, provenance, exports and foodservice. Nisa CEO Neil Turton will also interview five of the fresh faces recognised in The Grocer’s Top New Talent list 2013.
The Food & Drink Expo, a biannual event in WRBM’s show special at Birmingham’s NEC, takes place from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 March. Other exhibitions include the National Convenience Show, Farm Shop & Deli Show and Foodex. See foodanddrinkexpo.co.uk.
