New wine trade show London 2013 is attracting huge interest from leading buyers ahead of its September debut.
Organised by The Grocer publisher William Reed Business Media, the event will be based around pre-scheduled trading meetings, which can be booked in advance via an online portal.
“This is the first time a trade show model like this has been used in the UK and it will be interesting to see how this event works,” said Laura Jewell MW, fine wine product development manager for Tesco.
Bibendum buyer Martin Day added that the event, which will take place on 24 September at London’s Royal Albert Hall, presented an “invaluable opportunity” to wine buyers.
“To be able to pick and choose which producers we get in front of with focused meetings, we can condense weeks’ worth of travelling into just one day,” he said.
