The Wine and Spirit Trade Association has created a new role of head of communications as the drinks industry faces increased political and media interest.
Former GMTV political editor Gavin Partington will take up the role next month. He joins from PR agency Parys Communications, where he led its media training business. He has also worked as director of communications at the Lawn Tennis Association and telecoms company Energis.
"I am delighted to be working for the WSTA at a time when the industry is facing fresh scrutiny," said Partington.
"The WSTA is leading the way in addressing issues of concern to the public."
