A Scottish family butcher has launched a premium breakfast range in Asda stores throughout Scotland.

Black pudding and sausages including steak lorne, steak and pork are among the offerings by Simon Howie.

“I am delighted to have this range in our Asda stores. The feedback from our customers has been really positive,” said Asda local buyer for Scotland,” Mervyn Jones.

“The Simon Howie brand is now one of the mainstays of our local offer in Scotland and has helped to grow our sales of Scottish produce, demonstrating our support for local Scottish brands.”

Howie signed up to Scotland’s Food and Drink’s supplier development programme – an initiative designed to generate millions of pounds worth of sales for Scottish brands through Asda. The scheme helps companies gain industry knowledge and expertise, whilst developing a long-term trading relationship with the supermarket.

David Niblett, national sales manger at Simon Howie added: “This new range is the result of extensive research and product development in the premium breakfast category and we are now delighted to be able to offer this range to the Scottish consumer.”
