Maxxium is planning to make the most of The Famous Grouse's sponsorship links with the Scotland rugby union team during the 2001 Six Nations championship. The Grouse bird advertising will be back on Scottish television during February and March and Scottish rugby players have been booked to make instore appearances in multiples north of the border. There is a consumer competition on bottles of the whisky for merchandise signed by the players. New kit designed for the team will also feature the brand name. Marketing manager Chris Anderson said: "The Six Nations is one of the highlights of the sporting calendar, attracting millions of TV viewers worldwide, and represents a major profit opportunity for trade customers in the UK." {{DRINKS }}
