Sainsbury’s, Asda and Harrods have been accused of selling farmed fish as wild.

A snapshot survey by the Food Standards Agency found about one it ten fish sold by retailers as ‘wild sea bass’ and ‘wild sea bream’, and one in seven fish sold as ‘wild salmon’ were actually farmed fish.

The survey claimed samples of wild fish from Sainsbury’s, Asda and Harrods had been found to be farmed fish.

It also found 15% of retailers provided consumers with no information, or incorrect information about the fish and its origin.
