Farmhouse Fare is doubling its portfolio of traditional chilled puddings with the launch of a five-strong summer range to give it year-round appeal.

The range, rolling out now, is handmade using fresh local ingredients in line with the company's existing products. It comprises a strawberries & cream bread & butter pudding, a summer fruits variant, blueberry & lemon sponge and a sticky carrot cake. A jumble fruit crumble option completes the line-up, which is positioned at the luxury end of the market at £3.49 for a 450g to 550g pack.

Last year, Farmhouse Fare's sales were up 19% to £10m, outperforming growth in the total chilled desserts category of 7% [TNS 52 w/e 30 December 2007].

The brand benefited from a relaunch last autumn that included a new pack design and flavours and was supported by its first TV campaign. This led to broader distribution across key multiples, said the company. The brand is planning a TV campaign for later this year.
